    Hi Forms users,

Thanks for using Microsoft Forms and providing feedback.

We just enabled a new feature “Forms for Excel” for all Microsoft Forms customers. When you create Forms for Excel in your OneDrive for Business / modern SharePoint team sites, you will get an Excel workbook at the same time. All the responses data will show up in your Excel workbook in real time.

You could get more detail from – https://aka.ms/formsforexcel

Please be free to leave comments if you have any question.

    Regards,
    Microsoft Forms Team

    quote: Tracy
"Is there a way that Forms can add data to an existing Excel spreadsheet? Like the way Google Forms does?"

No, we are waiting 2,5 years for it. But you posted in the correct idea.
And you are correct, save data to an data sheet like google do it would be nice. And don't forget to mention that google do it for years in the correct way. The connection between of excel online and forms of MS is simply a design issue. I hope they fix in in the next 5 years. :-)

Simply save forms data to editable excel sheets. Save forms data to a sheet, let the use edit all data and also all columns beside the forms data as the user want. To be able to add custom columns and save custom data beside the form data. Everything... simply as google does it. ;-)

Google must have great developer to achieve all the things years ago. The idea forums of "excel" and "forms" is full of important features google has for a long time.
And all idea forums for "forms", "excel" and "ms flow" have a lot of great suggestions/ideas which are top voted for years. It's a pity.

"NEED this. Having to open a new file each time is awful. You can't capture new data once you download your responses, nor live edit the data. Google forms does this really well. You can edit the data (add columns, rows, etc.) without messing up the live form responses. It's perfect."

That's right! Please check how it is working in google forms and sheets and do it like this. In Google you can edit the spreadsheet which is connected to the form without problems. And the sheet is still connected to the form.

The idea is from "May 24, 2017". SO WHAT YOU ARE WAITING FOR?!

Idea of "Nov 22, 2016" and most of the time under top 20 of the most voted ideas.
Do I miss something or is the purpose of this voting to implement all ideas with highest voting first? I think so. But I am wondering why still so many ideas which have top voting are opened up for several years! Also some ideas, like this one, still miss a comment of MS developers. :-(

This feature would be a great benefit and make MS Forms usable for a lot of more use cases. We need this! Also google has it.

I think this is not just a small feature, I think this feature will make MS forms useful for many more use cases, as it often involves to be able to edit your vote already made, for example in small teams and longer-term votings. Often to edit your vote is mandatory. A good example is for example to vote for a date for an event. Of course thing can change when the voting lasts longer.

Great and simple idea from "Sep 4, 2017".
I am asking myself why you (Microsoft) are making a voting for ideas when you need years(!) to implement the top voted ideas. That's not agile development!?
