Limit the number of characters in a text field
When you use text option limit the maximum characters in the field.
As others have stated, being able to set a length threshold would greatly simplify Power Automate flows that write Forms submissions to SharePoint lists. As it is, I have to use Multiple Lines of text columns as much as possible just in case a responder decides to write a novel in a short text field.
In flows where I really need to write to a Single Line of Text column, such as the Title column that's present in all SharePoint lists, I must use the below expression to test for input strings that are too long and trim them at 255 characters:
Such an expression is cumbersome to work with in Power Automate because the Microsoft Forms field codes are extremely long and the expression builder does not provide much room to work.
All this could be avoided if I could simply limit the length of text fields in Microsoft Forms!

Without this ability it makes using Power Automate really difficult, as it can fail your response copy over to Sharepoint lists, with no ability to catch and handle this.
Google Forms makes this so easy. We definitely need the ability to limit character counts in both short and long answer responses. Please!
I suspect a lot of companies use Forms as an simple data input method and use Sharepoint to then track the data post form submission. As the text questions on Forms are not character controlled, the Flow to write the data into a SP list will simply fail. This needs to be fixed.

Allow both to be set or independently.
I would like the ability to set a custom character limit on individual text answers. My teams are turning to Survey Monkey because of this feature
Essential! I had to use a different form program, since Forms does not have this capability.
