Randomly chose a number of questions for a quiz from a pool of questions
I would like to create a pool of questions and Microsoft Forms should randomly chose a number of questions from this pool for a quiz.
So if I need a quick test for my students I could just tell Microsoft Forms to take 10 questions from a certain pool randomly.

This feature is a must especially for education!

Yes, absolutelly needed!
I would like to have a pool of 50 - 100 questions. If I define 20 questions for a Quiz, these 20 questions would be randomly selected from the pool, so it would be much more difficult to copy the answers from other students.
Please realize that:
- it is already possible to define 100 questions,
- it is already possible to choose random ordering of the questions,
so how difficult can it be to END the quiz after e.g. 20 questions???

As there were comments, but I comment again by summarizing and adding more:
1-M.Forms should chose number of questions from question pool by randomizing and shuffling questions and answers.
2-M.Forms should let categorize questions in sub-pools as MCQs, Open Ended questions, .... And randomly chose questions inside sub-pools.
3-M.Forms should make randomizing in fair way. It should let rate questions according to difficulty level, and take same amount of same level questions for each students. As an example, each student will have 1 easy, 1 moderate and 1 difficult questions from MCQ sub pool, and consecutively from other sub pools.
4-M.Forms should let free drawing/charting answering questions
is it possible or not?
I think this is one of the most important feature

Maybe the reason there has been no traction on this is because they need an idea for how to implement. I submit two examples. Maybe use Excel as a Question database. Or maybe allow scripting to create random values. Here are two examples of mine.

I second your suggestion that would be fantastic. Also, to be able to post numerical questions and the student puts his answer and the evaluator suggests the correct answer within +- tolerance. These features are available in moodle. Microsoft Forms is much user friendly and it would be fantastic to see it implemented here.
This is possible in Moodle.

I do this in Blackboard. I have pool of 20 questions. Each student gets 10 randomly selected MCQs, and the options in each question are randomly presented also. Works well and certainly makes copying off each other more difficult. I create my questions in Excel first. Shame Forms doesn't do this.
As others have mentioned, but I will again. One step further than this, that would be fantastic, is pool-groups (sub-pool?) Basically, be able to tell Forms I want x number of question from pool A, x number of questions from pool B, ...
P.S. I am teacher at a trade school that is have to use distance learning for the first time due to COVID-19. I'm spending my entire day working on required quizes, when I would prefer to spend it conferencing with students and making demonstration videos. So if you can implement this feature I will happily support your status amongst the font-line heroes.
It's been more than 3 years since this suggestion was posted and it's still not implemented yet. What took took Microsoft so long to provide this essential feature ?
Looking forward to have an aselect question proposal (not refreshable by student) within a form/quiz

This is key to education - desperately looking for this feature in MS Teams, Help the teachers with this feature.
This feature is a MUST for a credible quiz app. This is key to education - NEED this feature MS. C'mon, this is a cakewalk for y'all to do. Help our teachers out!
IT'S absolutelly required. The Googles forms has that feature already!!!

Plus one for this feature,
I'll add, it would be great too to be able to manually pick questions in the bank to create small version of a big test with selected questions.

A great feature to expect. Meanwhile, I use the feature that the questions are randomly shuffled and the replies are also. Yet the feature of random question order disappears when there are sections to the quiz. I did not try that, but probably when you start branching, the random question order also disappears.
I tried Moodle.org but this thing simply does not work. Demo school is not working - you cannot log in with example login, on general website once log in, the Issue page shows you are not logged in. You get mixed Spanish-English pages even if you chose English etc.
To go even further ... I'd like to create a pool/test bank of questions for each question. So...
Question #1 would have 4 or 5 variations and one is randomly selection.
Question #2 would have 4 or 5 variations and one is randomly selection.
Question #3 would have 4 or 5 variations and one is randomly selection.
This would be huge! As of right now, it is way to easy to cheat on a quiz/test. If the questions had multiple versions/test bank, it would make it more difficult.
For teachers, this is a big deal.
